How Nest works
In the first week, you will operate the Nest just like a regular thermostat by turning it up or down to your liking. The Nest Thermostat will not only get to know the temperatures you like, but also the different times of day you like the temperature to change. From here, your Nest will program itself and create a schedule to keep you and your family comfortable year-round. The Nest Thermostat will even learn from your home to figure out how it heats and cools, because no two homes are exactly alike.
Stay in Control
So, the Nest Thermostat is pretty smart, but luckily you are the one in control! With the Nest Thermostat app you have the ability to change the temperature at any time and from any place. By connecting your thermostat to Wi-Fi, you can control the temperature from your phone, tablet or laptop. Share your Nest by allowing members of your household to control the app. Conversely, password protect your Nest to keep tampering tots from adjusting the temperature for play.
Save Money on Energy
The money you save on energy using the Nest Thermostat will cover the cost of the thermostat in under two years! The Home/Away Assist feature allows the thermostat to automatically turn itself down when nobody’s home to help you save energy. As often as you like, check your Energy History in the Nest app to see how much energy you use and understand usage. The more you learn about how you use energy, the better you’ll be able to understand how to use less. The Nest Leaf appears each time you adjust your temperature to a more energy efficient setting, helping guide you in the right direction to choose a temperature that saves energy.

Neat Nest Features
Nest uses Farsight to spot you across the room and lights up to show you the time, temperature and weather. The Nest comes in a variety of colors so your smart home looks smartly done in terms of style. With four color options: stainless steel, copper, black and white, this sleek thermostat will blend in beautifully with your home instead of being an unsightly eyesore. It can be programmed in English, French, Dutch and Spanish. The 24-bit color LCD screen is vibrant and bright with large text to make it easily visible from across a room.
Multi-zone and Multiple Homes
Have a lot of space in your home? You can control up to 20 thermostats per home. The thermostats work together to save energy and check to see if the house is empty. You can also control Nest Thermostats in two locations from one Nest Account, so you can have one in your main home and one in your lake house, beach house or mountain cabin.
Installation
Installation is super simple. So simple four out of five people install the Nest Thermostat themselves. However, before getting started, you will want to make sure it’ll work in your home.
